Volunteers Needed: Youth Leaders

The Youth Leaders will help establish and develop a ‘Young Friends of the Earth’ School Club at the University of Malta, Junior College.  In partnership with Friends of the Earth Malta, youth leaders will offer the opportunity to youths to gain the knowledge and skills needed for leading an environmentally responsible lifestyle, improving the environment around them and for voicing their ideas regarding the environment.


Youth leaders should be energetic, willing to learn and ideally have previous experience of working with youths.  The ability to organise activities and lead is essential.  Adequate knowledge of environmental issues would be an asset.

 

Youth leaders should:
•    serve as role models in leading an environmentally responsible life,
•    provide opportunities for youth to learn about environmental issues,
•    provide activities that foster friendship among the youth,
•    provide opportunities for youth to develop personally, improve the environment around them starting with the school itself, and advocate towards environmental issues
